Chai is translated tea.
Originally, Chai tea is drunk after a meal, because the tea "boosts" digestion.
Cinnamon is a spice that stimulates digestion and Ginger helps against nausea and also contributes to a healthy metabolism.
Ingredients:
Per portion:
25 cl of water
1 sachet or loose black tea.
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cardamom
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 cm of ginger.
2 tbsp condensed milk.
5 tbsp unsweetened almond milk.
5 drops of stevia.
Directions:
Bring water to the boil in a cooking pot.
Peel ginger and chop in two.
Turn the heat to minimum when water is boiling.
Add ginger and all spices.
Let this steep for 10 min.
In the meantime heat up almond milk with stevia in the microwave.
Turn off the heat and add the tea to the mixture.
Let it steep for 5 minutes.
Pour everything through a sieve and add condensed milk and stir. (heat slightly if necessary).
Pour the mixture into a tea bag.
Froth the almond milk (If you don't have a frother, you can also add it without frothing.)
Finish the tea with the milk.
